Syracuse Crunch

During my first season at the Crunch, I pitched restarting their TikTok account to grow awareness and engagement. I never expected to develop such an in-depth understanding of the platform, from both the algorithm and audience perspectives. I have been able to learn and expand on both my interests in public relations and social media, while also being able to actively see my personal growth in social media through increased vanity metrics, such as followers and likes. Outside of TikTok, my responsibilities as the Public Relations Intern include writing social media copy and game story, monitoring social media during games for promotional use on the Jumbotron, overseeing the opposing team “stars of the game” with post-game on-ice appearances, assisting with signings and community events, and preparing the press box and equipment for off-ice officials before games. I also conduct research for media and community relations efforts, and perform competitor analyses, gathering social data of other AHL teams to analyze overall growth of our platforms.
